WHAT PARENTS CAN EXPECT FROM THE HOCKEY CLUB
We will respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and treat everyone equally within the context of the game or training session Coaches will encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance We will never physically or verbally abuse or neglect players and actively stop such behaviour between players Coaches will consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance We will ensure that all people who work in hockey at, or for, our club (including staff, officials, volunteers, team managers, coaches) have a responsibility for safeguarding young people and understand how the safeguarding policy and guidance applies to them.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOUR CHILD

To play fairly and respect the rules of the game
To respect their coaches and teammates
To adhere to the young people’s code of conduct and behaviou

WHAT THE CLUB EXPECTS OF PARENTS
Ensure your child is dropped off and picked up promptly from the venue Contact session organisers/coaches if you are running late to collect your child. Use appropriate language at all times Stay off the pitch during training and matches Provide emergency contact details and any relevant information about your child including medical history Get to know your children’s coaches, as they will play an important role in your child’s development, and respect their opinions and advice Teach your child that winning is not everything and it is important to recognise and reward effort To not abuse umpires and officials – they are volunteers and your child cannot play without them To not force your child to participate if they do not want to – they play for their enjoyment, not yours
